Who The Course is for
Adults already working in schools assisting teaching staff or teaching assistants who wish to update their knowledge and skills.
Course Content
This NVQ is suitable for all staff who work with teachers in classrooms supporting the learning process in primary, special and secondary schools. NVQ Level 3: 6 Mandatory Units plus choosing 4 optional units. Workshop sessions and flexi-learning material will be designed to deliver the underpinning knowledge required for the national occupational standards of care. Candidates complete a selection of core and optional units designed to reflect their industrial workplace experience.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must be employed in a suitable role, be able to meet the standards of the qualification and be capable of achieving Functional Skills at the required level.
West Lancashire College will also accept credits previously gained through the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
Learning & Assessment Methods
Assessment is mainly carried out in the workplace by trained assessors to suit the employee/er needs.

Course Costs
Fully funded if candidates DO NOT hold a level 2, part government funding may be available for additional qualifications - £450 if part-funded.
