Motor Vehicle

Are you interested in vehicles and how an engine works? Our vehicle maintenance and repair course helps students with a firm foundation of practical skills alongside the relevant technical knowledge of motor vehicles to enable them to progress in the industry.
At Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College we are able to offer a fantastic opportunity for young people to study in our brand new 5,000m2 £2.3 million West Lancashire Construction Academy.
To work with motor vehicles you should:
- be willing to gain knowledge of motor vehicles and possible faults
- have good communication skills
- keep up to date with new technology
- have a willingness to learn on the job
- be interested in cars, light commercial vehicles or motorcycles, and electronic equipment

Apprenticeship Courses available:
Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 2)
Motor Vehicle Advanced Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3)
Facilities:
- purpose built workshops for Vehicle Maintenance and Repair equipped to industry standard
- a range of cars to work with
- IT and internet facilities
- the Loft common room – an area for students to eat and relax
- sports and recreation facilities at Westbank Campus
A certain level of manual dexterity will be required for this course.
