Who The Course is for

Practicing Managers, employees who have tightly defined areas of responsibility and have some opportunity for taking decisions and managing budgets. They may also have responsibility for achieving specific results by using resources effectively and for the allocation and monitoring of work to team members, colleagues or contractors.

Course Content

To achieve the Level 3 NVQ in Management, you will need to complete the 4 mandatory plus 3 from a choice of 11 optional units:
MANDATORY UNITS

A2 Manage your own resources and professional development
B6 Provide leadership in your area of responsibility
D6 Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility
E6 Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility

OPTIONAL UNITS

C2 Encourage innovation in your area of responsibility
C5 Plan change
C6 Implement change
D1 Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
D3 Recruit, select and keep colleagues
E1 Manage a budget
F1 Manage a project
F8 Work with others to improve customer service

Entry Requirements

Candidates need to be working at the required job level and have reasonable maths, English and IT skills as it may be necessary to gain formal functional skills qualifications in these disciplines.

West Lancashire College will also accept credits previously gained through the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

Learning & Assessment Methods

Assessment is mainly carried out in the workplace by trained assessors to suit the employee/er needs.

NVQ Level 3 Management.
