Who The Course is for
This qualification is intended for middle managers who allocate work to others, achieve results by using resources effectively, carry out policy in a defined area of authority, control limited financial budgets and contribute to broader activities such as change programme and recruitment.
Course Content
To achieve the Level 4 NVQ in Management, you will need to successfully complete the 5 mandatory units plus 3 from a choice of 17 optional units:
MANDATORY UNITS
B1 Develop and implement operational plans for your area of responsibility
C2 Encourage innovation in your area of responsibility
D2 Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
E6 Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility
F3 Manage business processes
Entry Requirements
Candidates must be employed in a suitable role, be able to meet the standards of the qualification and be capable of achieving Functional Skills at the required level.
West Lancashire College will also accept credits previously gained through the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
Learning & Assessment Methods
Assessment is mainly carried out in the workplace by trained assessors to suit the employee/er needs.

Progression Opportunities
• Enhance your professional status by becoming a Member (MCMI) of the Institute
• Start working towards Chartered Manager status
• Progress onto the next level of Institute qualification, the L5 or the Executive Diploma in Management who's credit rating with the Open University (90 M points*) means that most UK universities give you credit towards relevant degrees, masters, MBA or postgraduate programmes.
