The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is the internationally recognised qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computer skills.

Who The Course is for
ECDL is suitable for those who are looking to enhance their computing and IT skills and knowledge.
Course Content
Students will study the following modules:
ECDL Essentials
> IT User Fundamentals
> Using Email and the Internet
> Security for IT Users
ECDL Extra
> Word-Processing – Using Microsoft Word to layout documents.
> Spreadsheets – Using Microsoft Excel to organise numbers and create charts.
> Presenting Information – Using Microsoft Power Point to create effective presentations.
> Improving Productivity Using IT.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, although a desire to succeed and commitment to the course is expected.
West Lancashire College will also accept credits previously gained through the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
Learning & Assessment Methods
General progress is regularly assessed by tutors, with a formal assessment test at the end of each module. You receive an endorsement in your personal logbook for each module you successfully complete, completion of all modules leads to the full ECDL Certificate.
