Who The Course is for

Adults already working in the Health & Social Care industry.

Course Content

This qualification will help you update your present skills and knowledge, and maintain or improve the quality of care you provide in the workplace. It can also help you progress to more senior positions within a care environment. There are 6 units to complete in order to gain the qualification.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be employed in a suitable role, be able to meet the standards of the qualification and be capable of achieving Functional Skills at the required level.

West Lancashire College will also accept credits previously gained through the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

Learning & Assessment Methods

Assessment is mainly carried out in the workplace by trained assessors to suit the employee/er needs.

Programme Duration = 26 weeks
Workshops in college/workplace = 6 weeks
Class size minimum = 6 learners
Work Place assessment and observations = total of 18 hours

Qualifications Gained

Health & Social Care NVQ Level 2.

Progression Opportunities

To progress to Level 3 (if job role allows).

Fully funded if candidates do not hold a level 2, part government funding may be available for additional qualifications.
