£42.8 million campus open for business

We are delighted to present our brand new £42.8 million college campus in Skelmersdale.

Our new state of the art campus offers you the chance to study a wide range of vocational courses in excellent facilities from hairdressing salons to a bistro, which will all be open to the public.

At the heart of the college is an atrium space which provides a multi-storey social and learning hub containing a variety of informal spaces for students to engage with the learning process outside of the traditional classroom.

Health & Social Care learner Ellie Sharrock, a former Burscough Priory Science College pupil, commented “I think the new campus is fantastic. It’s clean and fresh, nice and bright and I was really shocked at the size! It has brilliant facilities and staff everywhere on hand to help.”

Louise Dawson, Principal at West Lancashire College said: “The new college is a great investment for West Lancashire and the surrounding areas and will provide our local communities with state of the art facilities fit for the twenty first century.

The college’s long standing commitment is to re-invest in learning which serves the needs of our students, industry partners and the wider community. Through the development of this specialist building our learners have access to state-of-the-art facilities and a wide range of courses that will provide them with routes into Higher Education or employment.

We are the best performing General Further Education (GFE) College in the locality. This dedicated facility will help us to build on this success and create long term opportunities for students and staff.”
