Facilities - New for September 2011
There has never been a better time to study at Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College as we open our brand new campus for West Lancashire in Skelmersdale in September 2011. As you enter the main atrium you will immediately be impressed by this outstanding facility. You will enter the large open plan reception area with a relaxation zone leading into fantastic world class facilities.
We will offer an up to the minute Learning Centre, Theatre and shop fronts of the real working environments for Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Sports Performance Studio.
Theatre
Our state of the art 200 seat theatre is fully licensed and has an associated bistro which can be used during performances and events. With regular shows and concerts, our Performance Theatre is a facility that everyone is encouraged to enjoy. The theatre will offer students an excellent music performance venue with acting, music and dance studios. We are also offering a range of exciting courses and industry professional tutors.
Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy Salons
Our new campus will host a luxurious hairdressing, beauty therapy and complementary therapies department with individual treatment rooms. Additionally there will be a relaxation area with a steam room and sauna. Open to the public, this will provide a realistic working environment to our learners and will offer the public the opportunity to sample a range of treatments including, Hairdressing, Nail Services, Complementary Therapies, Media Make-up as well as a range of professional treatments.
Sports Facilities
Our brand new sports complex offers students an international standard 4 badminton court sized sports hall including digital score boards, dedicated viewing gallery, changing rooms with showers. It will also offer cutting edge facilities including a sports performance laboratory realistic working environment which offers students the chance to work on real clients.
Training Restaurant
New for 2011 is a fantastic new area offering the chance for students to study in an industry standard training restaurant. The restaurant will be staffed by our catering and hospitality students and refectory staff who will work both front and back of house.
